Joop Kuijs
Function: Chairmen
My name is Joop Kuijs. I am 65 years of age, married to Hansje Bunschoten.
I have two daughters and one foster-son. All three of them have a child of their own, therefore I have one granddaughter and two grandsons.
I have worked in the world of (elementary) teaching for 41 years; 32 years of which as a principal.
In the city of Almere I founded two new schools and in the city of Leerdam, where we moved to because of our wish to live in the countryside, I was in charge of a so called Jenaplan-school.
Now I am retired since last year.
I experience my new found freedom of being in charge of the biggest part my own agenda, as a great asset. Next to reading and, together with a bunch of friends, driving around in my Landrover Defender, I also study art history, do lots of chores in and around the house and starting coming June, I will be President of the Lions club of Leerdam. A bit of sculpturing and taking care of one of my grandsons for a couple of days, make that my days are much too short to cram all these activities. Also due to the fact that I love watching all sport broadcastings on TV too.
My devotion for the Greenyard, where I may function as the Chairman of the Senior Staff, is foremost inspired by the wish to help creating situations in which people can meet each other (both locally as internationally), because I am convinced that these meetings will lead to openness, which than will lead to understanding. And understanding will lead to tolerance. And especially today’s world and these time periods need understanding, tolerance and solidarity.

Wim Mazzola
Function: Logistics
I am Wim Mazzola, 63 years old and already 21 years member of the Lionsclub Geldermalsen.
My Italian name comes from my ancestor, who came long time ago from Italy to Holland, as a soldier in the army of Napoleon.
This is the third time that I have something to do with the Greenyard youth exchange.
In normal live I am an architect specialized in restoration of old buildings. For example the Loevestein castle you are going to visit, we are doing some work there.
Also I am married and have two children. I like to make travels and to visit old towns with different cultures.

Simon Sanders
Hello. I am Simon Sanders and Secretary of the Greenyard Senior Staff. During the day I am a solicitor, previously mainly focused on mergers and acquisitions but for the past few years my focus has shifted to telecoms and media. I am married and we have two beautiful children. Time allowing, I try to keep fit by cycling and some gardening. The days of going to the pub and staying out late have long gone, but I still enjoy a good meal in the sun, a couple of beers and or some wine. Any time left is spent with my family, friends and the few hobbies that have withstood the pressure of work.
I only joined the Lions a couple of years ago after discovering live was not just about making money. In trying to contribute a little more to society I also joined the board of a schooling organization with over 25 schools.
Participating in the Greenyard is another way of making a contribution to society and a very enjoyable contribution it is too. As a result, I will meet you all soon. As secretary A few words of advice: ensure your papers are in order and be prepared for the time of your live in Holland!

Charlotte Hoefsloot
Function: Youth Exchange Commissioner
Hello campers, my name is Charlotte Hoefsloot, proud (grand)mother of three children and three grandchildren.
As Youth Exchange Commissioner in this district, this is the third time I am privileged to organize one of the Greenyard camps together with a very enthusiastic Senior and Junior Staff.
It is always great to see how students from all over the world can become such good friends within a matter of days and I’m sure that this will happen again this time.
Welcome and enjoy, see you in Kedichem!
